Eastern Beach Recount

Eastern Beach Recount
*
One sensational, sizzling, summer day Panmure Bridge School went on a trip to Eastern Beach.  The most important thing I was waiting for was the kayaking for the year 7 and 8 students.

As the two intermediate classes sat down my team got called up first for kayaking.  We were all excited and couldn’t wait to hop in the kayaks.  As we put on our life jackets and learnt how to hold the paddle, two people slowly carried a kayak to the water.  Once all the kayaks were there we hopped in them and had a race to see who could get to the pink buoy first.  Ms. Kirkpatrick was waiting for us with a whole lot of games and activities for us to do.  We learnt how to turn quickly in a kayak with our paddles and played tiggy but my favourite part was when we had to carefully stand up and walk to someone else’s kayak while they walked to ours.  Luckily enough no-one fell off.

We had a race back to the beach.  Once we arrived some of us had a swim.  I slowly walked into the water and it was so freezing my lips went dark purple.  So I quickly ran back to my warm towel.  My friends and I just walked around and made stuff in the sand.  We made a heart that had 6 and 9 in it which stood for the two intermediate classes, room 6 and room 9.

The day was finally over so we all packed up and hopped on the bus.  Some of us were sunburnt but luckily I had sunscreen on.  We all had a spectacular and splendid day.
